Write Your Story
With wonderful people and a rich culture, India is a special place. As a Kaiizen volunteer, you will have the opportunity to connect with the culture and the people and experience for yourself why Kaiizen has fallen in love with India.
In 2009, a Kaiizen volunteer suggested a trip to India. We were intrigued, and we concluded that India was a place where we could make an impact. Every year since 2010, we have visited India with groups of 12-24 volunteers. Despite jet-lag, roasting in the hot Indian sun, and soaking in the Indian monsoon, all discomfort dissipates when we are greeted with smiles and hugs from the children who'd been eagerly awaiting our arrival. Sun-up to sun-down, whether sharing their stories, hopes, and dreams or playing the latest game they invented, the kids have energy to spare.
We partner with an orphanage called Our Home in the mountain forests of Kerala, India. Our Home is occupied by 35 children of all ages who speak English. Each trip to Our Home includes games of mud soccer, a project to improve the orphanage, and life-coaching classes. India will test you. It is hot, humid, and crowded. It is a 24-7 sensory overload, but through it all you will connect with the culture. Come see for yourself what India can teach you!
